Half Billion Spent On 1926 Music Lessons

Elkhart Indiana reports a Conn Music Center estimate that Americans will spend 2 billion dollars on music lessons from now to June. Based on J P Blake’s study, 256000 music teachers serve about 20 pupils each, averaging two lessons weekly for 25 weeks, totaling 250 million lesson hours at 2 dollars per hour, yielding 500 million dollars to music teachers.

Music Attracts Denver Teens To Study Music At Home

Elkhart Indiana reports rising interest in music among high school students with Denver data showing one in three study music. A Kendel survey of 1740 Denver pupils found 623 study via private instruction, 3292 instruments in homes, and 61 homes with organized music groups.
