Auto Club Notes Rising Tax Payments
The Easton Branch Advisory Board of The Automobile Club of Maryland warned of rising state local and federal motor taxes. Last year taxes totaled 19,052,996, up from 16,948,810, a 12.4 percent increase. The meeting, held December 9 at the Avon Hotel, was chaired by Dr. E F Withers and included officials such as Senator Wilmer Fell Davis and Leonard Kolmar. The club reported record membership, 34,539 touring calls, 20,000 maps and guides, 3,063 first aid road services, and 71 branch advisers, all operating as a Maryland civic non profit.

Re Registration Push For 1937 Motorists
The 1937 special session requires all motor vehicle operators to re register if they had original licenses before January 1 1937. Re registering by 1938 is mandatory as licenses issued before January 1 1987 will be void. About 450 000 operators eligible 328 422 total applications to date 126 578 have not applied. Over half the allowed time has passed with little more than half re registered.
