Key items include strict budget economy and bond limits, basic relief taxes, dedicating highway revenues to roads, distributing gasoline tax to counties, 1937 property reassessment, and a state individual income tax to reduce real estate taxes. The plan aligns with farmers’ demand to correct tax inequality and improve road funding balance.
Maryland farmers in Soil Conservation Service areas rapidly adopt contour strip cropping to reduce erosion. C C Bruce notes 171 acres strip covered and 1051 acres under agreement in Boonsboro Harwood and White Hall, with 60 acres in demonstration area and 531 acres planned in Maryland project at Hagerstown.
