J R Hughes of Greensboro Md declares his bid for the Democratic nomination for Caroline County Sheriff. He says party colleagues have urged him to run and he seeks the support of voters and party friends to serve the people faithfully if nominated and elected.
A Denton Maryland notice dated April 10 1913 announces James Temples run for sheriff asking Democratic party support at the primaries. He pledges full attention to the office if elected.
