Sharp's Island Losing Its Pasture to Salt Spray
Sharp's Island is described as a nearly bare tract of about 60 acres with only birds and insects remaining. Once a 600 acre estate with thriving crops, it has declined over 50 years, 15 years ago still productive, now deserted as salt spray erodes shrubs and trees. Ownership is traced to Miller R. Creighton of Baltimore who plans to claim oyster beds surrounding the island under the Maryland Inn.
