Portrait honor for Bell at British Institution
The British Institution of Electrical Engineers in London honors Dr. Alexander Graham Bell by placing his portrait on its auditorium wall. Sir Hugo Hirst presented the portrait by Walter Wesley Russell. Bell foresaw telephone as global commerce and public utility and his prophecy is borne out by today’s worldwide use with about 35.6 million telephones and daily cross‑country conversations.

Weekly Fashion Hint Frocks for the Precise Occasion
A fashion note argues a soft frock settles debates of college or finishing school and contract versus bickcom. It promotes frock No. 5551 in polka dotted silk with draped bodice and slim hip fit, three-quarter sleeves, and explains it as expensive yet economical to make. Also recommends flat crepe jeune fille frock No. 5716 for graduates in circular skirt with cap sleeves and sash ends, sizes 14 to 42 and 8 to 15 years.
