Zeigler couple near Denton used ryegrass with 5-10-10 and 10-10-10, grazing 30 dairy cows for 30 days on 10 acres. Ladino clover and orchard grass should be sown Aug 15 to Sept 15 with proper seed rates and fertilizer topdressing in spring. Wheat growers urged to vote on marketing quotas Friday

Maryland wheat growers with allotments of 15 acres or more are urged to vote in a referendum on marketing quotas this Friday August 14. George J. Martin chairman of the PMA state committee says the rowers will decide if quotas apply to the 1954 crop. Voting places are set in local communities. Growers may appeal allotments within 15 days of the notice. If over two thirds vote yes, supports rise to 90 percent parity. quotas mirror allotted acreage. Over planting triggers penalties. no quotas yields 50 percent parity. The final decision rests with growers. Dental punchline captured in the joke at end.
