Roland C Handy Elected To Democratic Committee

Roland C Handy, Federalsburg businessman and Civic leader, elected to the Democratic State Central Committee for Caroline county to fill the vacancy from the death of Albert S Handy. He is son of the late Albert S Handy, former county commissioners president and noted Democratic leader. The Caroline county committee now includes T Clayton Horsey chair, Chas B Harrison, Roland C Handy, Mrs Iva Jones, Mrs J Kemp Stevens, and Mrs Alice D Davis.

Busy Boys 4-H Club Builds Strong Start in Denton

The Denton boys 4-H club formed last February with Caroline High School teacher Cahall as leader but later replaced by Rufus B. King of Ridgely with aid from County Agent Evans. About twenty members work on dairy poultry crops and rabbits, with projects showcased at county shows and Wilbert Cawley chosen for 4-H Short Course at the University of Maryland.

Death by self-inflicted wound ends Royal Collison career

Royal Collison, a skilled carpenter, died by cutting his throat with a razor. Interment was at Hollywood cemetery. John L. Hopkins improves his property with a new coat of paint. Denton Camp and the Kent and Sussex Fair at Harrington draw many visitors. Harry Greenburgh adds an outbuilding, Prospect Sunday School picnicked at Slaughter Beach, and Harry Luff repairs his buildings.

Caroline Cattle Show Held Wednesday at Ridgely

Caroline County hosts its annual cattle show at the old Armour Plant in Ridgely with about 100 dairy cattle. The event, sponsored by the University of Maryland extension service and Caroline County Farm Bureau, features 4-H judging, Babcock test demonstrations, ropework by 4-H clubs, and multiple breed classes judged by committee chairmen. Notable organizers include W. H. Evans and Miss Bessie Spafford. judges include Dr. DeVoe Meade.
