Queen Anne's Railroad Notes and Rehoboth Prospects
Wilmer Emory of Centreville, a Queen Anne's Railroad director, said trains may run within 60 days between Queenstown and Greenwood, with work then extending to Rehoboth. A Wilmington firm will supply two locomotives and six passenger cars, with freight cars later. The line, about 60 miles and with 30 on the Chesapeake Bay, promises a boom for Rehoboth, possibly rivaling Atlantic City, and will link Baltimore and Washington to the resort. Freight and passenger traffic is expected year round, serving farmers across Maryland and Delaware, and connecting to potential future boat routes between Philadelphia and New York. Construction proceeds after rights-of-way are secured, with Cahall's farm settlement ending litigation and track-laying set to resume toward Denton once rails arrive.
