School Musical Aggregations To Present Musicale Tonight-Friday
Caroline High School presents a combined concert by the school Glee Clubs and Orchestra tonight at eight with no admission charge and a silver offering at the door. The program includes Come to the Fair, orchestral selections, a double quartet, and close harmony by the Pills Brothers. On May Day the entire school will have a track and field meet for County Athletic Day with Black and Orange teams predicting victory. The week also marks National Wealth Day themed classwork. The volleyball team, led by captain Lynnie Lord, beat Federalsburg 156 to 5 last Friday and plans to host Preston on May 5, aiming for another win as 40 players participate.

Church Groups Rally to Preserve Caroline Beer Status
A county wide interdenominational drive calls on Caroline county ministers Sunday School leaders and lay members to meet Monday at the Methodist Church to form a group to maintain the current beer prohibition. Sponsored by Greensboro ministers and led by Rev Norman A Leese and other local clergy the effort follows a Georgia Cyclone address by Mrs Mary Harris Armor.

Harry Smith an 18 year old from Hickman Delaware died after his throat was severed by a circular saw at Thom as Pritchett s mill near Hobbs Maryland He dropped a stick while moving wood and fell into the saw despite efforts by bystanders and Dr D O George to stop the bleeding Funeral services were held Monday at the Church of the Brethren in Denton

Ray Deen Found Dead In Woods Near Denton
Ray Deen a well known farmer and brother of prominent county figures was found dead with a shotgun at his feet in woods near his home eight miles south of Denton. Coroner Henry R. Lewis deemed an inquest unnecessary and ruled death by his own action. He told his wife he would be gone a few minutes. A prong stick under him suggested a trigger pull. He leaves a wife three daughters and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Annette E Emerson wife of Victor Lee Emerson of Philadelphia was awarded 165216.97 in Superior Court at Georgetown Del against Universal Products Company for royalties on a universal joint invention used in over thirty five million cars. Emerson licensed exclusive rights in 1914 with 25 cents per joint and monthly settlements. claim notes many cars paid and others unpaid. Emerson is a former Denton native.

Diocesan Convention to Meet in Denton Next Week
The sixty fifth annual Diocese of Easton convention will convene at Christ Church on Tuesday May 2 with a Holy Communion service at ten. Bishop Davenport will deliver the annual message, officers will be elected, and reports heard. A convention dinner at the Brick Hotel follows with tickets at seventy five cents.
