Asher to Accept Foreign Post with Aid Agency

John W. Asher Jr former Northeast Area Director of the REA and long-time Choptank Electric Cooperative official will report to Washington on April 30 for appointment with the Agency for International Development. He will undergo at least six weeks of training before his overseas assignment. further details await a White House announcement. At 39, Kibler was sentenced to six months in Caroline County Jail for a second DUI offense, posting $450 bail after appeal. Mason was fined for reckless driving with a suspended sentence and disobedience. Brubaker was found not guilty of operating as an accomplice to a gypsy encampment without a license. The trial also heard scheduled assault cases involving Thawley, near Bridgetown, as the April 1962 Circuit Court term wrapped.

Pomona Grange Spring Meeting in Greensboro May 10

Hansen Hoffman invites all Grangers to the Tri County Pomona Grange Spring Meeting in the Greensboro firemen’s hall on Thursday May 10 at 8 p m DST. Maryland turkey growers vote on nationwide marketing order

A referendum for turkey producers in Maryland runs June 18 through June 22 to decide on a national marketing order. Eligible voters include large turkey producers and contract producers, with polling at ASC County offices and ballots available by mail. Ballots must arrive or be postmarked by June 22.

Junior high glee clubs from Caroline County perform at Colonel Richardson Senior High School on May 3 at 8 p m. Model Air Meet Planned at North Carolina High School

The Greensboro Lions Club appoints Edward Derrickson as Contest Director for the second annual AMA sanctioned Model Air Meet to be held Sunday May 27 at North Carolina High School Denton. About 200 miles distant contestants are expected with seven events including Rat Racing and Combat Flying. Food will be provided from noon until contests end with Morgan Williams heading the food committee.

State Trooper Activity Reported In Caroline County This Week

The State Police report for the past week details several incidents in Caroline County. Incidents include a multi vehicle crash on April 21 with charges of operating while under the influence, a pickup run off the road with injuries, a parking lot collision at the Denton post office, an attempted high speed escape leading to a rollover, a separate April 24 crash with $300 damage, and a late April robbery at a Denton area residence under investigation.

Trash Disposal Solution Reached for Denton Area

Caroline County Commission and Denton Town Commissioners have devised a plan to provide a proper trash disposal site serving town and county residents in the Denton area. The Keep Caroline Beautiful and Annual Clean Up Committee called the issue pressing after five years of discussion, noting rural areas still lack suitable sites and urging timely action by officials.
