Yonder Lumber Town Saga Opens with Defeat and Arrest
Don Elliott arrives in Tincup and defeats Bull Duval in a log-billing contest. Elliott, with old man Don Stuart, angers Nicholas Brandon who orders Stuart out. Elliott is arrested and later Lillett finds an ally in Judge Able Armitage who hires him to run the Hoot Owl mill camp. Dawn Mc Manus owns the camp, Brandon’s partner’s daughter, and a murder charge shadows her family. Old Don Stuart dies leaving a protective letter. Fire threatens the mill as Ben fights flames and uncovers gasoline arson, while the incendiary escapes.
