Easter customs and legends from a rural past
An essay traces Christian and pre Christian Easter symbols such as eggs and hot cross buns, then recounts old regional superstitions about Good Friday health, dew rituals, and Easter Monday heaving. The Prologue and early chapters introduce Kenneth Gwynne, his inheritance quest, family secrets, and a tangled romance with Viola Gwynne.
