Peach orchards on the Maryland Delaware Peninsula

Berlin Md April 9 peach growers on the Maryland and Delaware Peninsula assess likely yields after a dry previous season. While most expect a good crop, some Smyrna area growers doubt a full season, citing injury to select varieties like Reeve's Favorite and Crawford's Late. Governor Stockley notes Sussex county orchards likely face reduced yields.

Peninsula expects record fruit harvest this spring

Over the past three years orchards have yielded large profits and the peninsula faces a very fair quantity of every variety. Small fruits look abundant this season though strawberries suffered from a winter with frequent freeze thaw cycles.
