Frost Fails To Harm Maryland Fruit Bloom
A brisk wind spared Maryland from a heavy frost feared by weather experts. Orchards remained largely unscathed as pear, plum, and cherry trees bloomed with pink buds and early peaches showed green embryonic fruit. Cold nights followed by a Tuesday frost yielded minimal damage. Experts note soil worked ground reduces frost impact.
