Legislative notes outline Maryland Delaware highway and school bills
The Legislature passed a state bill to curb gip sies with a $1,000 entry fee for wanderers. Two bills authorize the linking of Maryland and Delaware state highways by a pike. A Preston to Choptank shell road costs 34,000 for the county and 1,000 for local people. Local laws fix Caroline County Commissioners salaries at 500 per year. Magistrates and constables receive higher fees. A local statute requires property transfers to note changes first at the County Commissioners office.
