Exhumation of Johnstone Body Follows Inquest
The body of John Johnstone, Hickman willer, initially buried after a coroner’s jury ruled death by his own hand, was exhumed by Delaware authorities. Drs Ammerman and Hunter and State Detective Gray examined the remains finding slight facial bruises and no water in the lungs, challenging the prior verdict. The lungs did not sink when placed in water, the stomach appeared normal, and Gray recovered the deceased’s note and handwriting samples before the body was reinterred in Conard.

Minister's lecture on Courtship and Marriage in Wilmington
Rev William J Birmingham, a noted Wilmington pastor, spoke on Catholic Church teachings about courtship and marriage. He warned that a man without a home is dangerous and that a woman's place is at home, urging parents to learn suitors' intentions by observing their courtship. He claimed bachelors rarely save their souls and that one year suffices to know a couple, noting only twenty three marriages in the past year in the parish, many from Philadelphia and other cities.
