The Denton Chamber of Commerce held its March meeting at the firehouse with strong attendance. President E Theodore Orme and Secretary Edward H Cowell Jr led the session as members voted to form an association rather than a corporation and to draft new by laws for consideration next month. The group approved sending a letter to Governor Lane praising his proposed Maryland road plan and named committee chairs for New Industries, Legislative, Membership, Civic Improvements, Christmas decorations, and Publicity. Parking issues were discussed and a folder highlighting Denton’s advantages was proposed using essays by Caroline and Lockerman High School students. The April meeting is set for 8 pm on Monday the 28th at the Firehouse.
