On May 9 1953 Mrs M Ella Raleigh of Miami Florida sued for 75000 after an auto crash caused by a gear shift problem in her Dodge. Another driver Mr Hull in a Buick sought 75000 then 7500damages but the twelve member jury found the plaintiff guilty and relief denied.
