Maryland political wire pulling across factions and influence
A Maryland political overview shows Senator Millard Tydings backing Mayor Howard W. Jackson to control delegates to the next Democratic national convention, while U. S. Marshall August Klecka shifts support amid intra party moves. The piece traces patronage, merit system battles, and the influence of Governor OConor and local bosses on state politics, including the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and patronage deals.
