Locals Capture Third Straight
The Capitol City Boys beat St. Louis 8 to 1 in an outclassing performance. Lilpop held visitors to two hits after the first inning and struck out twenty, despite one misplay that allowed St. Louis’ sole run. Markel filled in behind the plate, acquitting himself well. The heavy hitting by Jefferson City at times kept a large crowd amused, as Reuther’s team logged their third straight win as the season progresses. First inning saw Fey reach third after a muffed throw by Markel, then Fey scored on Goldsmith’s single.
