Death of Prof Max Zach longtime St Louis Symphony director
Prof Max Zach director of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra died at 6 30 this morning at the Josephine Hospital after a two week illness. Born in Lemberg Poland fifty seven years ago he led the orchestra for fourteen years and was noted for devotion to American composers. He suffered septic chills after dental work and an abscess broke. His wife Mrs Zach living in Roxbury arrived at his bedside before his death.
