A Luna county gathering of the Democratic Party met to organize precinct committees and plan for the upcoming convention. A. Mahoney was named permanent chairman and Walter Ney was secretary, with a slate chosen for committee assignments across precincts. The meeting adjourned sine die after outlining duties for the campaign season.
An 19th century letter from a veteran resident recalls the Minster Valleys flood season and the loss of property along riverbanks. It details destroyed houses, crops, and debris swept toward Havre, with references to families and farms along the river and the shifting landscape after recent floodwaters.

The Whitmire and Martin Mullen have purchased a steele of cattle recently owned by Creight Voreber in the Burro mountains. They will move the herd to their ranch near Fay woods, Hot Spain.
