Seven Men Die In Logging Train Disaster On Cloudcroft Road
A Shay engine on the Alamogordo & Sacramento Mountain Railroad hauling logs and workers plunged down a mountain grade near Alamogordo New Mexico. Seven men died and about ten were injured as the train derailed on a sharp turn and several laborers leaped free. The cause remained unclear and the engine reportedly refused to operate.
