New Mexico W. C. T. U. Elects Officers at State Convention

The 18th annual W. C. T. U. New Mexico convention closed with a lively program at Crystal Theatre. Dr. J. D. Swope delivered the keynote address. Mountainair was chosen as next year's meeting place. Officers elected include President Mrs. C. Nutter and several state officers. A delegate to national and world conventions was named.

Deming Boy Leslie Smith Dies Off Victoria at Sea

Leslie Smith a 17 year old deck boy from Deming loses life when a giant wave sweeps over the Victoria 550 miles west of Cape Flattery as the liner sails from Seattle for Nome. The body is not recovered and Otto Smith of St Andrews Florida is his father.| Henry Stein of 107 Main Street, a former Deming pupil, relayed the clip to the Seattle office.
