Forty New Pumping Plants Ordered by Deming Farms

The Dymond Agency won a contract to install 40 pumping plants for Deming Alfalfa Dairy Farms. The package includes No. 1 American Well Worka Centrifugal pumps and forty 10 horsepower Rumley engines. J. W. Dymond leads the project with Eanes and A. overseeing engine installation. This is one of the season’s largest pumping machinery orders locally.

Successful Farmer John Maisel in Mimbres Valley

John Maisel, early settler in the Mimbres Valley, visited town on Tuesday. He lives in the German settlement 14 miles south and reports a thriving farm with over 10 000 pounds of beans, crops of maize and alfalfa, a milk stock, and a three year old orchard and vineyard. He migrated from Nebraska and praises German settlers for sturdy farming.

Spalding Improvement Nukes Lights and Orchard Plans

Spalding now has electric lights powered by a local dynamo. General Manager E H Bickford and Colonization Agent York oversee a model office building. Supt W N Hammond of Rio Mimbres Irrigation Company reports new orchards and plans to plant 3000 apple and pear trees next season. He also outlines seed corn selection to boost yields. A new thousand gallon well near Spalding is under development and W F Right of Claude Texas visits to study Mimbres Valley conditions.

Engineer Hails Rich Ore Finds at Deming Mine Site

Engineer G E Coxe of the China Copper Co reports to Bi Metallic Mining and Milling Co directors on 195 acres in Sierra county bromide district revealing 18 assays from $60 to $264 per ton in gold and silver. He states ore location is proven with many tons exposed and predicts a mine rivaling famed predecessors under strong supervision.

Bailey Urges Local Hogs and Crops in New Mexico Valley

Dr. R. H. Bailey of Portales Valley Land & Loan Co reports from Tucson on Mimbres Valley farming strategy. He advises residents to raise hogs on alfalfa and meat crops like cantaloupes beet root crops and finish on feterita maize, claiming local meat could fetch 8 to 10 cents per pound. He also suggests testing wells before installing pumps and buying efficient equipment. Bailey lauds New Mexico Valley’s agricultural advantages. Rev. Theodore Platt preached at Paso’s First Baptist Church Sunday.
