Shriners Train Passes Through Demi g En Route Dallas
A special train of Shriners from Los Angeles to Dallas stopped in Demi g for about thirty minutes Saturday night. The engine whistle drew a crowd to Harvey House where attendees danced the turkey trot. The contingent travels with a band of about 75 instruments.

School Board Names Teacher Roster And Land Tax Reform
The Board of Education met and reappointed Prof. J. B. Taylor as superintendent. New high school teachers include S. J. Daley and several Misses. Grade staff features numerous rehires and resignations. A land value study by the Luna County committee urged three tax zones and detailed suggested acre values for Deming and surrounding areas. The County Commissioners adopted irrigated land values near Deming at 45 per acre and set other zone values accordingly.

Transcontinental Autoists Visit Deming on Detour
Messrs. Rockledge West and Corellia drive a R C H car from Los Angeles to New York stopping in Deming to reroute around blocked Springer pass. They traveled 146 miles from Safford to Deming in eight hours and will reach Albuquerque then Indianapolis for a 500 mile race by month end.
