Charles L Betts Dies After Long Illness in Deming
The Heath of Dr Charles L Betts occurred at his home Monday morning after a yearlong fight with a progressing disease. Funeral services were held at St Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev Kenneth Houlder, burial in Mountain View cemetery conducted by the Masons. Survived by his widow Louise Hughes and sister Mrs Wimble of Rochester, N Y, Betts had lived in Deming since 1908, served as army veterinarian in the Philippines under Pershing, and was noted for his upright character and adherence to the golden rule.
