Mimbres Valley Alfalfa Farms, Incorporated advances the Carne project with 75 workers slated by April to string power lines from Deming to Carne. Five water bearing strata found at 81 feet promise 1206 gallons per minute, with expansion to deeper testing. Purchasers take tracts from 160 to 40 acres, while 74 to 1000 acres monthly will be plowed for alfalfa or other crops. John M. McTeer named local manager.

Springs Sold Near Deming by Victoria Land and Cattle

A fire Monday evening around 9:00 p m consumed the house occupied by G J Daley at the corner of Spruce and Ruby streets. Inadequate water supply prevented extinguishing the blaze and firemen focused on saving nearby homes. The adjoining dwelling to the west was lightly damaged.
