Howard Thought Slain By a Shell in France
Word reached Capt. H. G. Rush that Claude G. Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Howard, was killed by a shell in the Bynting region of France last September. His body was buried by earth thrown up by the shell that killed him and four companions. The officer reported losing sight of Claude as the shell exploded and his parents now mourn the loss with deep sympathy from Deming.

Mrs McCallister Dies in Home Tragedy
Mrs Gillian McCallister wife of W F McCallister died at home last Saturday morning from pneumonia. Funeral services were held at Rawson parlors Sunday with Rev W J Chil dress officiating and burial in Mountain View cemetery. Survived by husband and two sons Roncol Leroy in France. Roncol returned home Wednesday and was with his mother at death. Rosleoe could not reach in time. Another son Fyoy Evgeny McCallister died here last week and was buried.

Diphtheria Claims Two Children of Blee Family
