The Deming Chamber of Commerce held a second open meeting last Tuesday with a larger crowd despite rain. Farmers discussed cotton prospects and reports suggest enough cotton will be raised to justify the Mimbres Valley Farmers Association buying the gin. A committee will contact farmers to gauge dedication to farming and industry. The chamber plans outreach to farmers in other states to entice relocation to the area, with bright future prospects and abundant natural resources.

Tucson March 1 Special to Headlight reports Marvin C. Clark, Deming High School graduate and son of John W. Clark, is unanimously chosen to captain the Wildcats for 1923. Clark, a 1920 Deming grad, played at the University of Arizona since 1920, captained the freshman basketball team last year, and earned varsity status this season. His sisters Bertha and Bonnie are noted as top basketball players on a Southwest championship team.
