Mogollon Bandit Killed The Other Jailed
In a pitched battle near the Gila Farms thirty miles north of Silver City Sheriff Emil James and two deputies killed Gregorio Torgano and captured Francisco Rodriguez after bandits shot and robbed Mogollon Mercantile Company on February 19. Over $3000 found on the killed man and more than fifty shots were fired. The surviving bandit surrendered Friday afternoon and is jailed in Silver City.

Charles Morgan of Muskogee Oklahoma and Las Cruces lies in critical condition at the Ladies' hospital after a hypnotist show in Deming. A group of hypnotists touring the Southwest reportedly had eight men pin Morgan during a supposed trance, causing chest injuries that county physician Dr Miliken says may cripple him for life if he recovers.

Deming Automobile Association Organized in 1912
Deming New Mexico February 26 1912 a group of auto mobilists and citizens met at the Adelphi Club to form the Deming Automobile Association to affiliate with state and national bodies. Dr R C Hoffman chaired the meeting with W B Hillis as temporary secretary and G Williams Rutherford as permanent secretary. Officers named included Lee O Lester first vice president Arthur J Evans second vice president and Morris Nordhaus treasurer. A bylaws committee and correspondence with other associations were approved with next meeting set for March 4 at the same place. In other notes Little Vineyards company received seed for a school farm project and C A King announced his move to Deming to invest in local farming.
