Deming July Fourth Celebrations with Daylong Events
Deming hosts a full Fourth of July program from 9 a.m. to night with juvenile sports at the Armory, a 10:30 a.m. baseball game at Base Ball Park between Dem jug and Lordsburg, and swimming events from 1 to 2:30 p.m. An adults 25 cent and children 10 cent admission applies to swimming, with proceeds to the pool fund. A 50 cent baseball game admission supports the baseball fund and a late-night Armory dance funds the baseball drive.

Sol Carragien died Monday at Holy Cross Sanatorium at four o'clock after illness. Born in 1883 in Kharput Asia Minor, he married Edith Baird in 1910 in St. Louis and moved to the southwest seven years ago, living in Deming the last six years. He ran The Cody and The Pastime theaters during World War I and was well known in region. Survived by wife and five children Eloise Betty Edith Bruce Merron. Death of John Clardy in Missouri after brief visit
John Clardy died in Neasha Missouri between Tuesday and Sunday morning after arriving for a summer visit with Mrs Clardy. He had moved to Deming years ago from Greenville Alabama and once ran a shoe store on Gold Avenue. He and Mrs Clardy married February 4 1919 and lived on Granite Avenue. Mrs Clardy taught at the High School last year and may return next year.
