County to Get $25,758 Refund on Railroad Bonds

Dr Reid Appointed State Child Welfare Director

Deming's Famous Pool Draws Summer Crowds

The Deming municipal pool at Eighth and Pine, built for about $26,000 during Camp Cody days, remains popular as summer arrives. Operated by Community Service Incorporated on a five year lease, it features a 60 by 120 foot tank, deep end of eight and a half feet, constant-filtered water, three large filters, and a germ free claim. Admission remains 25 cents with own suit or 34 cents if provided. City trees and improvements nearby are noted to boost appeal.

Hoffmans Return From Very Enjoyable California Tour

Dr and Mrs R C Hoffman and son David returned to Deming after an extended California tour in their sedan covering about 3500 miles. No car trouble was seen and the pleasant weather accompanied the trip which ranged as far north as San Francisco. They visited Colonel Berryman in Gorning and sent regards to old Deming friends. Dr Hafter reports improved health and all enjoyed a delightful vacation.

Arthur E. Moore Dies After Stroke at Hot Springs

Arthur E. Moore, who moved to Deming after the Tyrone rain camp closed, died at Mimibres Hot Springs on Wednesday following a stroke. He was buried Thursday afternoon in the Odd Fellows cemetery. he left a widow and several children and the community offers sympathy.

The St Anne’s lawn fete on Sunday drew many Americans with ice, cake and soft drinks served by parish youth. A string orchestra provided music as Father Van Goethem noted the event raised more than 40 dollars to start a fund for a church tower to house bells.
