Information warns of a bean shortage in the Estancia Valley and nearby areas. Governor James F. Hinkle pardoned Carl C. Magee editor of the New Mexico Tribune in Albuquerque after libel and contempt convictions in Judge D. J. Leahy's court. Magee's fines totaling 4050 were remitted, and the editor and the Tribune faced a total of 460 days in jail and associated fines. The governor defended the action as ending a persecuting procedure and noted he acted after Magee indicated no appeal would be pursued. Telegrams from across the state and beyond supported the pardon.
The Evergreen Ranch encampment near Socorro New Mexico held July 10 15 marked by lively program and popular sermons led by Rev George C Butterfield of Los Angeles. Ray Hacon of Santa Fe visits Luna County to assist the board of county commissioners in drafting the 1925 budget. A special meeting of the community commissioners is called to prepare the budget.
The Colorado Columbus and Mexican Railway Co requests a certificate of necessity and convenience to build from Columbus New Mexico to Farmington New Mexico. The A T C F Railroad Co objects delaying progress. Hearings begin Tuesday at 4 pm in the Supreme Court room Santa Fe. Legislature supported the road. the ICC is expected to issue the certificate and construction could start quickly once funds are released.
W R Eccles district engineer for New Mexico State Highway Commission will visit Las Cruces to meet county commissioners about road work. The budget allows 170000 dollars for state highway projects in Luna County including 1923 funds. Deming Columbus road apportionment covers about 16 miles. officials seek authorization to fund the entire mile road and have leting ready by August.

The Girls Auxiliary met at Milas Georgia Karr’s home on Wednesday afternoon. An afternoon program titled Touring in the Evangelistic Machine featured Bible readings, a poem, and multiple short readings by Doris Siler, Georgia Karr, Cora Wallace, Ethel Cooper, Esther Witt, Donia Siler, Elisabeth White, and Mrs. Brooks. The program likened Christian work to machine parts, ending with a closing prayer.
