City Trustees Meet In Regular Session Monday
The monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees was held Monday night. Two ordinances passed granting Southman Pacific Railroad a perpetual franchise to lay a spur on Railroad Avenue and Pearl Street on recently acquired property. Other ordinances cover licensing and charging for public service cars and drivers. City engineer G B Margin reported on buildings, plumbing, electricity and sanitation. Frank Barrett awarded garbage removal contract with 15 cents per ash or garbage can and 2 rents per load for trash removal.

Lieut Osterhaut to Return Home From War
Dr M J Moran received a dispatch from Linat Sherban Osterhaut of Hondale stating Lieut Otterhaut arrived Camp Stonr Va last night and will be home in two weeks. He was wounded in France on November 6 and forced German prisoners to carry him to the first aid station. no permanent ill effects are expected. He is a graduate of Deming High School and has served abroad for much of the past year. He reports no news from home since leaving.
