Tyrone Car Overturns on Silver City Road
During a dust storm last Saturday a touring car owned by Dr. Miner of Tyrone overturned on the Silver City road about five miles north of Deming. All four occupants escaped injury. Dr. Miner and his family returned to Deming and resumed their journey to Tyrone the next morning.

William E. Kendall aged 79 died here last Wednesday and his body was sent to El Paso for burial. He had lived with his daughter for two years after moving from El Paso where he resided 34 years. Survived by wife Mary Kendall two sons G W Kendall and W E Kendall and three daughters Mrs J H Shinn Mrs W Simpson and Mrs J W Warden.

Pioneer of Southwest Passes Away Sunday
William Dee Strickler longtime Deming resident and Deming Ice and Electric Co employee died early Sunday at a local hospital after being rushed from home for stomach surgery but died before operation. He leaves a wife, three grown children, and three grandkids. Born September 3 1867 in Fairfield Virginia he moved to Colorado then to Deming 22 years ago. Florida Well Making Satisfactory Progress
The Florida Oil Co. reports progress on a well west of town with a 10 inch hole reaching 1460 feet. Driller Bumpus says the shoe lost from the 768 inch casing has been passed and he expects to pass the two lengths of smaller casing after exceeding 1565 feet. The hole is water filled but drilling continues with the 10 inch bit and no casing will be set yet. The Angelus well is expected to resume drilling soon.

Raymond W. Irvin a Fort Bayard sanitarium patient was killed and Henderson W. Purdue a patient was badly injured when a new Nash car loaned from Fort Bayard overturned near Silver City on Sunday. No witnesses exist but Purdue was rushed to Silver City hospital. Irvin’s body shipped to Mackine Michigan. Purdue’s home is Nora Kentucky.
