Verdict Awards Damages to Mrs Price Against Ladies Hospital

Mrs Beatrice Price of Minnesota won 6500 in damages from the Ladies Hospital in a federal suit decided in Alice on Monday over burns from hot water bottles used during a March 1918 appendectomy. Clark Clothing Co Robbers All Captured and Bound Over

Robert E. Fisher, the fourth man linked to the Clark Clothing Co robbery, was brought back from Chilliecthe C by Deputy Sheriff H J Kane. He pleaded guilty before Judge Rogers and was bound over to await grand jury action. Sheriff’s office efforts led to the arrest of all involved. Fisher had joined the U S Army and was sent to Chilliecthe where he was traced.

Death of Mrs Nannie Tome in Deming

Mrs Nannie Tome died at her home in Deming in her 68th year after a sudden illness. She was a Methodist church member, assisted in Dr Y M Steed’s office, and survived by daughters C H Siler Roy Roberts and Peat Cobble. Funeral held at the Methodist church with Rev J H Walker officiating, burial in Mountainview Cemetery.

Oscar Tyson Dies in Columbus at 27

Oscar Tyson, 27, master mechanic at Camp Furlong, died Sunday in Columbus from pneumonia after falling ill Friday. He was an ex-soldier discharged 17 months ago and survived by his wife. Funeral services were held Thursday at his Columbus home with Masonic lodge and Ruth chapter honors, and burial followed at Mountainview cemetery.

Bauman Family Returns to Deming From Ranger Texas

E W Bauman and family came back to Deming from Ranger Texas early this week. Mrs Bauman has paralysis and they returned for access to better treatment here. Bauman says Ranger’s business conditions hold up well with a population around 20 000 and many new buildings replacing older wooden structures.
