Plans are complete for the Chamber of Commerce banquet to be held next Tuesday night December Sth in Deming. The event aims to boost local enterprise with enthusiastic support from the community and business leaders, highlighting a hopeful future for the town and calls for ticket purchases.
Governor C A Larrazolo says an extraordinary session of the New Mexico legislature is likely, possibly in December. He cannot confirm items yet but mentions ratification of the suffrage amendment will not be omitted. A state central committee meeting will review issues for the session.

E. Norris Hobart resigns as Assistant state engineer after one year in the post and two years with the state highway department. A New Mexican by birth from Silver City and a graduate of the State School of Mines at Socorro, he previously served with American Smelting & Refining in Mexico, rising to chief engineer of the Charcos unit at San Luis Potosi. He leaves the state engineer’s office to pursue mining work in Mexico with offices in El Paso and Mexico City.

Mr and Mrs Howard Connelly and Emmett Connelly have returned from an extended trip through Texas seeking a convention. They are back in Deming to stay.

The progressive Democrats have pursued a paper deal for a year and offered 200000 for the Phoenix Gazette. Flagstaff hosts the remaining daily of the Democratic press, with most cities leaning Democratic.
The United States treasurer reports fiscal year 1919 ordinary receipts at 4.6979 billion and ordinary disbursements at 15.3663 billion, up 6.5088 billion from 1918. Panama canal disbursements and receipts paid 22.27 million and 6.28 million, while the general money stock climbed to 7.5187 billion with circulation at 5.7880 billion.

Dr. G S Luckett returns from Santa Fe to oversee the case and the girl is placed under modified quarantine. Draft boards in the war reported leprosy among NM men examined in southern New Mexico.
Santa Fe records from the state corporation commission note several upgrades to train service. An electric smoker will replace the current lamp on the Tumya car while the A T S F will retain No 1 at Santa Fe long enough for C R G passengers arriving at 1 24 p.m. to make connections.
Local residents in the Casi Grande valley in Arizona refuse Russian settlers from Glendale seeking cheaper land via the Bull River valley. The report notes Russians avoided wartime service and draft registration, with no residents wanting those who refuse duties of American citizenship.
