A Democratic gathering in Luna County convenes on Tuesday September 2 at 4:00 PM in the Old Wormser Building corner of Silver Avenue and Pine Street Deming NM to name precinct chairmen and to elect five delegates to the Territorial Convention in Albuquerque on October 13 1902. Signers include J A Mahoney Lindauer Frank Thurmond A J Clark and J P McGroaty.

A cowboy in Tonto Basin near Baker's Butte on the Mogollon rim was struck by lightning and killed instantly. His horse escaped unharmed. The bolt traveled down the body and out through both feet. the heels of his shoes were cut off. The deceased, named Facey, worked in the area. Also included are household tips on stain removal, flavoring cakes, pain relief, cleaning piano keys, and reviving yellowed ivory.
An advertisement for Sixser Dairy in Kansas City invites customers to join a growing list as fall trade nears. The Argentine Kansas, morphine-related death of Dr. I. Foote, aged 50, is reported with a suicide note detailing intended disposal of property and a fatal line about feeling near death. Foote had recently moved from Ohio and left a daughter, Mrs. M. E. Reevant Willoughby.
