George A. Watkins stockman of Hondale Luna county has been adjudged bankrupt by Federal Judge Neblett. Case referred to Frank J. Wright of Silver City. Sums show assets around 32 120, notes and mortgages total about 86 184 323 with secured claims 60 684 33 and unsecured 1 133 62. El Paso Cattle Loan Co holds chattel mortgage on Watkins properties including ranches range horses and cattle. Evidence lists securities around 35 000 and debts around 60 44 33 with Bank of Deming also holding notes and mortgages totaling 26 500 secured claims 86 184 323.
Veterans of the 4th division of the American army from World War I will hold a reunion in Minneapolis Minnesota on September 7 according to word received by veterans in El Paso The 4th division trained at Camp Cody Deming New Mexico before departure to France many members later settled in El Paso this reunion aims to reconnect those men and their service milestones
The Pythian Biatern will stage an ice and cake sale on Berry's avenue Tuesday night August for the benefit of the Grand Lodge of the Knights of Pythias. A Deming event is set for September 19 and 29.

Florida 16804T Angelus drill nears 1700 feet as 22 feet gained in a day and rock shifts from red sandstone to lighter brown. Chief driller Mumpus and crew press on while concrete to halt water is being drilled out, with about 70 feet remaining. A coal delivery and double shift are planned once roads permit, aiming to seal the water within 10 to 15 days.
A Radcliffe Chautauqua planned for spring was postponed again and rescheduled for spring 1921. A Washington system letter to local chairman M. Nord stated the contract could be canceled if signers preferred. At a Chamber of Commerce meeting the contract was canceled.

Officers selected for the coming year include President Mrs. Siler, Vice-President Mrs. Guiffli, Secretary and Treasurer Mrs. Weaver, and Group Leaders Mrs. Olson, Mrs. Griffin, and Mrs. Weathered.
Six of seven miners trapped at Co operative Mining property 14 miles from Silver City were rescued alive after being cut off in an drift by a cave-in. One miner Pete Jones died in the collapse. The survivors report no lasting injuries from the incident.
G D Hatfield of 14 miles east of Deming shipped 10000 pounds of new potatoes from Mimbrea Valley. Shipment consigned to an El Paso firm for distribution at Fort Bayard Central and nearby points. Mr and Mrs J S Kerr visited El Paso Tuesday and returned Wednesday noon driving a new LaSalle and a Chevrolet.
The first Rodeo Association meeting of the season is set for Monday night at 8 at the Chamber of Commerce. Attendees will help set the date for the celebration and organize a larger event with more wild horse riding roping bull dogging prizes and competitors than last fall. Officials note the auto racing track near the city grounds east of town is nearly complete and rains have refreshed grazing, boosting optimism for a prosperous season in the southwest.
The board of regents of the Spanish-American Normal school at El Rito awarded contracts for overhauling the water light and power systems. Totaling more than $2,000 the bids were let to A R Gangey and Joseph McCabe of Santa Fe.

She lists residents once here who were seen out West including Blodgett family, Powler, Fowler, Eggleston, Farmer, Hyatt, Bletcher, Goforths, Eva May, May family, Bolen Jaccbe, Combass, Collins family, Nora Collins, Mary Blackwell, Chan Blackwell, and Geo Blackwell. A Methodist fair is planned at Deckert building on Gold Ave next to Gem Grocery.
