A Santa Fe passenger train wrecked about five miles east of Silver City during heavy rains causing a washout on a newly completed track. Engineer Chris Ceteran suffered a broken leg. Fireman Prison did not report serious injuries. The wreck halted service briefly as rescue crews moved passengers and mail to safety. A separate fire destroyed the residence of Udvant Breck near town, with unknown origin.
The Baptist church will hold Sunday services at 10 a.m led by Rev. O. F. Hab with preaching by Pastor Foil Richardson. The Methodist church offers morning and evening services Sunday with the regular sermons by Pastor M. Bragg.
Over thirty citizens of Dont. Tag attended a weekend gathering at the Watkins ranch sixteen miles from town, enjoying a pre dinner hunt and a seven pound fish catch, with dancing and music by a New York band. Miss Dassie Kendrick and eight year old Tattie Watkins drew praise for skillful fishing. The event concluded with a moonlight return home and thanks extended to the Watkins family and chef Otto Brigniere.
