Members of the Claude Close Howard post of the American Legion met at the armory Wednesday evening and registered a unanimous 6 to strongly oppose the dry amendment to the federal constitution and the dry legislation before congress. They endorsed the board of trustees in opposing Ordinance No. 100, and planned a letter to express the post’s views. A big smoker is set for August 14, with insignia buttons to be distributed, inviting all county veterans to attend. A committee will report on lend available to retained service men under new rights.
