Doctors report every skin graft on his abdomen has taken, and the wound has healed. Surgeons Dr. B A Montengoh, Dr. Steed, and Dr. Vickers assisted in the operation.

Killed While Stringing Wire On Mountain States Line
Charlie Lucha of Mountain States Telephone died instantly Monday noon when a 2800 volt live wire he touched while stringing a telephone pole caused a complete circuit. An inquest found death from contact with live wires and a fall of 12 to 14 feet. The body was prepared for shipment to Creeda, Colorado, at his mother’s request. He was 32 years old and well liked among linemen.

Funeral for Luther Stevenson Held at Christian Church
Luther Stevenson died last Friday and funeral services were conducted at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at climatic 38 p m by Rev Z Moore. A large crowd heard a heartfelt tribute to his short but active life. The casket was placed in Mahoney Undertaking parlors vaults and will soon be taken by his widow to their former Illinois home. The writing honors the man whose uplifting influence remains in memory.

Funeral Services for E. E. Burdick Held at Home
The funeral for E. E. Burdick, born in 1826 in Utica New York, was held Sunday from his residence. W. E. Foulks led the burial at the city cemetery after noting 87 years of active life including mining in Lake Valley and cattle interests in Luna and Grant counties. Burdick, though not church affiliated, lived by the golden rule, calmly firm and trusted by many. his wife and children receive community sympathy.

Demonstration Farm of 40 Acres Advances Alfalfa Project
The Mimbres Valley Alfalfa Farms Company hires Mr McPherson as general superintendent in charge of development. A 40 acre demonstration farm will train farmers in water efficient, science based methods. The elder McPherson, a horticulture specialist and Idaho state horticulturist, is retained as consulting agriculturist. The firm plans an orchard section and farmer schools to apply scientific practices from the start.

Car Load of Cans For Local Tomato Crop
A car load of cans arrived Wednesday for D. Osborn to aid his tomato crop. Osborn has sold 3500 cans to local merchants, and neighbor Pringle plans about 1500 cans. The crop should be ready to can in about thirty days at Osborns cannery.
