Luna County Sunday School Institute Plans Second Annual Conference

The Luna County Sunday School Institute schedules its second annual conference for April 21 and 22 with delegates from the county invited. Activities include prayer, talks on duties to Bible schools, social Sunday school topics, and sessions at the Presbyterian Christian and Methodist churches led by Rev. Ball Club Organized by Deming Fans

Deming baseball fans met at Leffler and Field on Friday night and formed a baseball organization for the coming season. J. H. Brown chaired the meeting with Pierce Hughes as secretary. Jim Hines was elected captain and N. B. Birch field assistant, while Hughes also serves as secretary and treasurer. A finance committee was appointed including George Leffler, Pierce Hughes, and Milt DePuy.

Governor McDonald left St. Vincent's sanatorium Monday and is resting at the executive mansion. He is not allowed by his doctor to transact business or receive callers yet, but his improvement is a cause for congratulation to everyone.

Chaves county plans to file suit to force county commissioners to pay salaries under the pre statehood fee system. Attorneys W. A. Dunn and L. O. Fullen, hired by state officers, filed a petition before the Chaves county commissioners using Guy H. Herbert’s name as county assessor.

J A Stump county assessor learned last week of his sister Mrs J W Kennedy of Tulsa Oklahoma dying Monday the 7th inst in an auto buggy accident when the horse bolted and she was thrown from the buggy breaking her neck causing instant death.

Deming entrepreneur Paul Nesch of the Acme bakery expands from a single shop to daily shipments beyond the town. Methodist District Conference Ends in Deming

The El Paso district of the Methodist Episcopal church concluded its conference at the Deming M E Church with Rev. Allen Ray noting Deming’s rapid growth second to El Paso and calling it one of the district’s best charges outside El Paso. Attendees praised the conference as enthusiastic and well regarded by visiting ministers.
