World's Day Of Prayer Observed by Delta Churches

The World's Day of Prayer was observed in the Chapel by Slate Ridge Slateville Rehoboth Presby terian Delta Methodist and Delta Baptist Churches. Mrs. John Hammond led. an organ prelude by Mrs. Arthur Robinson opened a program of songs Scripture readings and prayers. Prayers for Africa Central Europe China Judia British Isles and the nation were offered. A poem read by Alma Macomber and others. a Christmas service among emigrants and cooperation with American Indians were included. A solo by Ethel Robinson enhanced the well attended gathering.

Slate Ridge P T A Bears Plans For Band

The Slate Ridge School P T A met Monday with John Bay presiding. Anita Heaps reported on the last meeting and the monthly dental clinic. Plans to organize a school band were discussed. H H Wilder and William E Baxter spoke. Prof A H Morris of the Fawn Grove Band addressed attendees. No action was taken.

Rehoboth Temple Workers Elect New Officers

The Temple Workers of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church met at the home of Mrs. William M Williams in Cardiff on March 8. Slateville Presbyterian elects officers for Sunday School

The Slateville Presbyterian Session recently elected the incumbent Sunday School officers. Henry C. Whiteford is superintendent and H. Dale Malone assistant. Curtis Johnson serves as treasurer, with Delta Chapel and A. G. Dunlap as superintendent, W. J. Cowley as assistant, and Mrs. William Walter as treasurer.

Miss Helen Lytle hosted the Slate Ridge Char Chapter gathering at her home on Saturday. President Mrs M Baxter conducted devotional exercises. The Home Missionary Society of the Delta M. P. Church met with Mrs. Charles Brown on Monday evening. A covered dish luncheon was served. Devotional exercises and a business session followed. Slateville Social Service Club met at Miss Edith Riley's home on Friday March 3. The session opened with The Old Rugged Cross, Scripture read by Rose Galbreath, and treasurer’s report by Mrs. B W Jones noting receipts for twenty c haryinals and a remaining balance. New projects discussed included a tennis court and clothing for an orphan. plans to pursue both with instant approval given to the tennis court and orphan clothing. A pantomime by Glenwood members and a paper dress model were part of the social hour, refreshments served, and a large list of attendees from Mrs. Alles to Miss Mary H Jones.

Chimney Fire at Millard Jones Residence

The Helta-Cardié Fire Company was called at 2 10 P M to the Gobblers Knob home of Millard Jones to extinguish a stubborn flue fire. They reached quickly and saved the structure from damage due to the overheated chimney.
