Baltimore Elects Hinks Know Nothing Mayor by Wide Margin

Baltimore reports Hinks of the Know Nothings elected over Thomas with a 2741 vote majority. City Council results show First Branch six Democrats fourteen Know Nothings, Second Branch two Democrats eight Know Nothings. Early returns from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana indicate anti Nebraska sentiment among 52 of 57 congressmen and strong anti Nebraska legislatures. Pollock in Pennsylvania leads by 33,500 with counties still to hear. Ohio and Pennsylvania legislatures are largely anti Nebraska.
