Temperance Lecturer Saksa Lectures Arising in Delphi

R. Hout, famed temperance speaker, addressed a large Delphi audience at the Court House on temperance and anti Nebraska themes. He spoke in Pittsburgh then returned to M E Church and gave an anti temperance address Monday. Citizens' reception was orderly and signals a new era in temperance effort with liquor dealers warned.

Another Fizzle at Pittsburg Democratic Meeting

Nebraska Democrats met in Pittsburg on a Saturday evening. After organizing and a pair of speeches they endorsed a bill but were defeated 13 to 21. A renegade Whig spoke again and a later vote on Simon carried 18000. Eighteen supported the bill, seven from Delphi. The writer labels it another fizzle and says people oppose the swindle nationwide.

Messrs Barnett and Co. report a large supply of machine made bricks from their yard across the canal. The specimen shows a smooth, regular, solid article, superior to hand made bricks. Nearly 800000 bricks in the kiln have been burned and must be examined at the office.

The Post Office building is being removed across the Square to the vacant lot immediately west of the Buford House. The Telegraph Office for the present is in the room immediately over L. Maartin's Store.

Death of Scorch Giant at Teegarden House During Travel

On Monday evening the well known Scorch Giant traveling with his caravan arrived with his wife at the Teegarden House in this city. He became overheated and collapsed after requesting water. Professor Larrabee Tugged Into Indiana Temperance Row

During a late People's Meeting in Indianapolis Reverend G B Joce lyn attacked the Missouri Compromise repeal and temperance issue. He faulted Professor Larabee for supporting a whisky faction, alleging he was misled by a broken platform and accusing him of aiding a Salt River expedition while eyeing the Indiana governorship.
