A Wabash passenger train struck a car at the Madison Street crossing in Burrows, killing Mrs. Elizabeth Daugherty and Mrs. Ida Lucille Brunner and injuring five year old Candace Brunner. The crash occurred after a shopping stop. no signals guard the crossing.

Delphi Athlete Fractures Leg in Hillcrest Scrimmage
Tommy Goff a 14 year old Delphi resident and high school freshman fractured his right femur during a Hillcrest school football scrimmage on Tuesday. He received initial treatment from a local doctor then was transported by Eikenberry ambulance to Home Hospital Lafayette where a cast was applied.

Delphi man injured as boat hits obstacle on river

Air Force Team Member Competes in Royal Flush Event
Lt. John Zartman son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Zartman of Delphi is part of the United States Air Force team at Exercise Royal Flush in Europe. Six teams from the US France Britain the Netherlands and Belgium flew 36 missions with the Grenther trophy as the prize. After Spangdahlem the Zartmans will move to Lacon France until September before returning to the United States.
