Wheat payments for 1940 set at 18 to 22 cents per bushel
Dewey Zinn, chairman of Carroll County Agricultural Conservation Committee, says 1940 AAA payments for wheat will total 18 to 22 cents per bushel on the normal yield, including conservation and price adjustments. Final rates depend on 1939 data and 1940 allotments. The 1940 rate will be lower than 1939’s 28 cents due to a larger national wheat allotment of 62 million acres versus 55 million in 1939.
